North Dakota’s Department of Public Instruction received an “education innovation grant” that is being used to implement artificial intelligence to help young students with reading skills.

Organizers say it’s for K-12 districts and daycares, to connect them with local growers and suppliers.

It was designed to head-off an initiated Constitutional amendment.

The vote was 55 to 38

The grant comes from the Institute of Education Sciences. It's focused on middle school.
