This 3 or 5 mile walk/run brings awareness of diabetes & raises money that allows the Dacotah Mandan Lions to sponsor local kids so they can attend Camp Maverick which is a week long summer camp devoted to kids with Type 1 diabetes. The cost is $700 per child & the Lions generally sponsor 8-12 kids each summer. It is $20 to participate. You can also donate directly to the cause. The mailing & Venmo info is on the flyer. These kids love this camp. For a week, they are the same as every other kid there. No more being the only one is class or on the team that is diabetic. The camp also provides a doctor, dietician & counselors who are also diabetic. Please support this worthwhile cause.
