AmeriCorps NCCC helps Minot flood recovery efforts

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps is in Minot to help restore areas affected by the 2011 flood.

AmeriCorps NCCC is comprised of a 10-person team.

“We’re really glad to be able to help with the flood recovery effort,” AmeriCorps member Emma Mills said. “We are happy to be in more of an urban area.”

The team is working to clean up efforts for flood victims.

“We are working on power washing and sanitizing houses. They all got ruined in the flood last year and they had to be gutted because of the mold,” Mills said. “We are cleaning them out to get them ready for rebuilding.”

AmeriCorps is a community service program. The teams help with projects across the country.
