90th COVID-19 death, nearly 800 active cases in ND


A woman in her 80s from Cass County has become the 90th individual to pass away with COVID-19 in North Dakota.

The state health department says any underlying health conditions she may have had are still unknown.

Additionally, 124 new individuals from 22 counties have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the statewide positive total to 4,792. These results were from a pool of 4,135 tests for a daily positive rate of 3 percent.

There were 37 new cases detected in Cass County and 25 in Burleigh County. Ward County had 13 new cases, Grand Forks County had 11, and Williams County had eight. Morton County had four new cases. Benson County had three. Mercer, Sioux,  and Stark Counties each had three new cases, and two new cases were detected in Cavalier County. Barnes, Dunn, Golden Valley, McKenzie, Mountrail, Pembina, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Stutsman, Trail and Walsh Counties each had one new case apiece.

There are currently 36 people hospitalized with COVID-19. There have been 290 total hospitalizations.

There have been 3,903 recoveries. This leaves 799 active confirmed cases.
