Learn about the history and nostalgia of high school basketball in North Dakota when you visit “Beyond the Court: Basketball Bonds North Dakota Communities” March 10-April 6 at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck.
This temporary exhibit in the Inspiration Gallery: Yesterday and Today features memorabilia from schools across North Dakota. See clothing, tournament brackets, news articles, trophies, and other items showcasing high school basketball. Stop by the State Archives to look at past editions of “The Hoopster,” state tournament programs, and other treasures. View a display of basketball photographs from throughout the years. Enjoy daily self-led activities for children and adults. Watch two Prairie Public Television documentaries, “One Shining Moment” and “Basketball, Water, and the Lost City of Elbowoods,” running continuously March 12-15 in the Great Plains Theater.

This year's inaugural event at TAK will feature Deb Jenkins, Skarlett Woods, Gina Powers (who will be performing a solo set as well as channeling her inner Alanis Morisette), and Kari Marie (who will be performing a solo set as well as channeling her inner Gwen Stefani). The student band "Major Change" from local Minnesota university Moorhead State will be featured as well.
Deb's Corner Foods will be serving delicious food items and snacks to purchase that please the palates of carnivorous and vegetarian/vegan attendees alike. The venue will also have a variety of cold beverages available for purchase, including a full bar serving adult libations (with proof of ID).
All ages are welcome at this show! Children under 7 are admitted for free.
All General Admission ticketholders will have access to a table for enjoying the social hour and performance, available on a first-come-first-served basis. Due to the winter weather, unmonitored coat racks will be available and free for patrons to use.

Dacotah Mandan Lions Strides Walk. Sunday April 19th 1:30 pmPlease join us at the Mandan Middle School. This walk raises funds to pay the fees so that local kids with Type 1 diabetes can attend a week long summer camp ($700 per child). Walk 3 or 5 miles around the track at the school or if inclement weather, the gym will be used. $20 per participant. Registration starts at 1:30 pm. Grab your sneakers, grab some friends, come alone, join us for a very worthy cause that directly supports local kids have a week where every kid there is the same as they are, wears an insulin pump, does finger pokes, checks their glucose levels, etc. instead of being the only kid in their classroom.
