Apr 27 Saturday
Badlands Conservation Alliance is hosting an outing to western North Dakota on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 to celebrate Earth Day. We'll hike 5.5 miles of the Maah Daah Hey Trail in the Little Missouri National Grassland. BCA Executive Director Shannon Straight will be guiding the hike and providing background on the conservation initiatives in the area.
We'll meet at Chimney Park in Medora, ND at 9:00 AM MDT on April 27th, and we'll leave Chimney Park together at 9:15 AM MDT. At the conclusion of the hike, Dakota Cyclery will provide a shuttle from Coal Creek to return participants back to their vehicles. The hike from Plumely Draw to Coal Creek is moderately strenuous and will last three to four hours.
Hikers must bring their own food, water, sunscreen, first-aid supplies, and other gear. Hiking shoes or boots are required. No potable water is available on the trail. Dogs are allowed on the portion of the Maah Daah Hey Trail the group will be hiking. Dogs must be on a leash in developed areas, including the trailheads for Coal Creek and Plumely Draw. Please be aware that this trail is shared with horses. This is a section of non-motorized US Forest Service land. Badlands Conservation Alliance members and non-members are encouraged to join us for the hike. The event is free and open to the public, and there is no fee required to hike on this section of the Little Missouri National Grassland.
"It's a beautiful hike," says Shannon Straight. "It's not intimidating, but it is the Badlands, and it's a glorious place to hike. Please come join us."
The event has limited capacity, so please RSVP on Facebook or by contacting Shannon Straight.Email: bca@badlandsconservationalliance.orgPhone: (701) 450-1631RSVP on Facebook: https://fb.me/e/7JR35VEN4

MIKE EARLEY:Born in Minnesota, Mike Earley attracts the sort of attention that people from the Midwest would statistically rather die of hypothermia than be put in front of. With a sly, sharp delivery he seamlessly weaves from one subject to another with an ease that often betrays his unassuming dimeanor. He has regularly performed at premiere clubs across the country like The Comedy Cellar, The Comedy Mothership, and Acme Comedy Club. He currently lives in New York City and is a touring opener for Louis CK.
JAKE SILBERMANJake Silberman is a New York City comedian who’s been relentlessly touring the country over the last three years. He’s headlined numerous clubs, including Helium Comedy, The Comedy Club of Kansas City and Comedy Corner Underground. Jake is a regular opener for Kyle Kinane and Nick Mullen, and has also opened for comedy greats Nate Bargatze and the late Norm Macdonald. His special “The Crowd Work Album'' is currently streaming on Tubi, with the album version put out by Rhizome Comedy Records. Jake’s work has been featured on the popular “Your Mom’s House” podcast as well as “Now This News.'' His podcast “The Jake Silberman Show '' can be heard every Friday. In 2022 Jake released his feature length documentary “Back at it” on Amazon Prime, which chronicled the return of stand up comedy after the pandemic and follows Jake as he tours the country interviewing comics and fellow Americans along the way.
