Join Prairie Public for a special evening featuring NPR Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep and the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.
The evening will begin with a social hour featuring heavy appetizers, drinks, and live music from Scott Prebys and Friends. Guests will then move upstairs for an engaging theatre-style program beginning at 7:00 PM, featuring a live conversation between Steve Inskeep and Robbie Lauf, Executive Director of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library.

Join Folkways and VFW Post 762 for a community Burger Feed fundraiser supporting the creation of the America 250 Mural.
A new public art installation is coming to Downtown Fargo in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Event Details:
Enjoy a meal, connect with community members, and help support a project that celebrates service, history, and community pride. Proceeds from the event will directly fund the completion of the mural, including artist design time, materials, and installation costs.The event is open to the public. We hope you'll join us in supporting this exciting addition to Downtown Fargo's public art landscape and the nationwide America 250 celebration.Enjoy classic American tunes throughout the evening performed by Anothony Chaput.
About the project:
The mural, located in Roberts Alley behind the VFW Post 762 building, will honor American history, recognize veteran service, and create a lasting civic landmark in downtown Fargo. Designed by artist Meg Felix, installed by Upper Hand Signs and led by Folkways resident artist Lesleyanne Wild, the project will feature classic Americana imagery in the American Traditional tattoo style, including an eagle on a shield of arms, Lady Liberty, and the iconic North Dakota bison on a VFW crest.

The Chateau de Morès Interpretive Center in Medora is offering free educational activities on Fridays in June related to the history of the Chateau and leisure activities popular in the Victorian era. Children must be accompanied by an adult. All sessions are free and open to the public.
June 19, Schoolyard Games, 1-4 p.m. Play classic schoolyard games, including jacks and marbles. Learn how kids created fun and friendships through simple games and outdoor play. June 26, Pinch Pots, 1-4 p.m. Make a pinch pot using air-dry clay. Learn basic techniques for working with clay and explore different types of ceramic art.
These programs are part of the ND250 commemoration celebrating our country’s 250th birthday.

Bring your furry companions and join us for the Great Pet Trek at the Fort Mandan State Historic Site near Washburn on Saturday, June 20, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. This fun-filled free event celebrates Seaman, the Newfoundland dog who was in this area while accompanying the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804-5. From 1 to 1:30 p.m., stroll alongside the scenic Missouri River with your pets and take part in a group photo in front of the Seaman statue. At 1:30 p.m., the Pet Olympics kicks off with playful competitions and activities. A pet show is at 2 p.m. Pets will compete by size and be judged on leash behavior and personality. All pets must be leashed and accompanied by their owners.
Donations of laundry and sanitation supplies will be collected for local animal shelters.
“The Great Pet Trek is a wonderful way for our community to come together and celebrate the legacy of Seaman while enjoying the beauty of Fort Mandan,” said Bethany Schatz, interpretive coordinator at Fort Mandan State Historic Site and the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. “We look forward to seeing pets and their people explore the grounds, join in the activities, and share in the fun of this annual tradition.”
The Fort Mandan Visitor Center is now dog friendly. Leashed dogs are welcome inside the visitor center alongside their owners. Visitors have praised the site as a great stop with dogs, making it a perfect destination for history buffs and their furry companions.
